GECAD is an abbreviation: it combines Georgescu (founder
Radu Georgescu's family name) and CAD, the acronym for Computer Aided Design.
There was a reason for that: the company started out as a developer of CAD solutions.
For most of the company's life, the name was written with capital CAD: GeCAD,
as a means to preserve the historical roots of the company. Nowadays though,
GECAD it's no longer about that: it's a technology group that spans IT, Communication
and Services.

The GECAD name is a brand in itself, commanding customer recognition and loyalty.
Therefore, the rebranding team decided to keep the name, but modernize the spelling
and create a distinctive logotype, based on artwork and not regular fonts.
The original GeCAD rewrote the rules for Romanian IT companies: it proved that
outsmarting everyone is better then outsourcing from everyone.
The new GECAD preserves this approach, but adds new businesses and interests.
It's a group, as opposed to a company. A group operating in a diverse world
of new technology and high speed, blending communication and processing power.
A small world of companies working together to bring their clients the technology
and services needed to fulfill their vision.
.design principles
The world of GECAD is a world of equal chances. One of communicating vessels.
A world that connects people and opportunities. That's what we had in mind when
we designed the new GECAD logotype.
All letters were made equal and we completely wiped out any capitals from the
logotype. Lines were streamlined and connected, to look high-tech but also friendly
and strong.
And there is a point somewhere. A square. A red dot that repeats itself in front
of our motto: .mind for innovation .heart for commitment

The integrated chip started with the humble transistor (compacted and multiplied,
streamlined and tightly packed).
Operating systems were built from a single line of code down (of course, we're
talking long, long way down…).
So, you see, you can trace the beginning in mostly everything.
And, as the universe started with a Big Bang, so GECAD started with an idea:
innovation is a way of life. People will buy it if it's smart enough. If it
makes a difference in their life's and businesses, no matter the hype. And they'll
come back for more.
That idea is still here, in the core of everything we do: employing our minds
in the pursuit of innovative products and services.
But that's a rather long sentence. What if we manage to convey it in a symbol?
One that can be attached to our brands,
that can easily be a bridge between the companies that share our vision?
That's what we did. Our core is this sign - simple and strong.
Passionate red, squarely innovative.
We call it the Red Dot of Innovation.

.why do we use it?
Because we want to constantly remember, to us and our clients, that there is
a difference in the way we do business.
Because we place innovation in front of everything.
Because we consider everything as a start: even the dot.
